Are the embossed walls a vinyl? If they are, a friend of mine had them as a backspace under her cabinets in a kitchen. She painted them and they look fantastic. The embossing was very subtle and looked amazing. She used a latex satin in a sage color and no other undercoat. Hope this helps.
