put vinegar in the toilet bowl followed by baking soda, then put just vinegar in the toilet tank, allow to sit overnight

  • I just toss in, swish around, let sit for awhile, come back, swish around some more and flush. BUT, I am a tidy girl living alone, an easy task, takes no time whatsoever. Will take a bit longer with multiple occupants of a home, but still pretty simple in the grand scheme of things.

I pour some vinegar in the toilet. A few squirts of Dawn dish liquid. Swish with a toilet brush to foam it up. Let it sit for about an hour or two. Usually go shopping or in my workshop. Swish around with the toilet brush again and flush. The suds suspend the vinegar above the water line.

    Tank or Bowl?

Tank... flush, pour in 1 gal white vinegar, let fill the rest of the way with water and let sit... 30 min. or so

Bowl.. the bowl will automatically start to drain off excess water once it reaches a certain "pressure" on the valve that lets the water go down... I would stuff a wash cloth or hand towel in the drain hose USE A BRIGHTLY COLORED ONE...so you don't flush before removing it. Fill up the toilet (above residue line) with White vinegar and let set... I would also put a LARGE note on the door to stop anyone from going in and use blue painters tape to tape toilet shut... to keep the towel from being inadvertently flushed.... set a timer to remind you to remind you to go brush and flush
