How do you clean the stain around the porcelain in bathrooms?

Steam is really the best way. Amazon sells relatively cheap steam cleaners.

It depends on the stain. If it's rust at the bathtub drain or dark areas around the toilet...toilet area usually means seal has leaked beneath the flooring. It won't clean up. Rust around the drain usually means the porcelain has worn thru. So, what kind of stain is it?

I've been using denture tabs for any porcelain stain for years. Drop 2 in the toilet bowl overnight the bowl bottom sparkling. Drop a few in the water tank and it cleans the years of water stains. Put 2 in a cup with a toothbrus scrub. Or puddle it on stain watch it disappear.

It does depend on the stain, but I've found that using the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner in a blue bottle cleans the deposit stains from our well water in the toilet, in the bathtub, in the sink.... We used a cleaner specifically for those stains when we first bought our house & it was awful hard work & didn't get the job done. This toilet bowl cleaner works like a charm - fast and very little elbow grease - especially in the bathtub/shower. Went from orange/nasty looking to brand new! Just remember to use rubber gloves as it's sometimes very hard on the skin.

I use toilet bowl cleaner called "The Works" it is the best can be bought at Dollar General for under $3. Do not use the same stuff and the dollar store it is not the same it looks the same but Dollar General's is stronger. Use gloves, ventilation and do not get it against metal(turns metal black) Safe for porcelain, plastic and marble. Pour on the stain wait till it bubbles then rinse off. If not possible to pour soak a paper towel and rub then throw paper towel in a plastic bag tied shut. Rinse with a wet paper towel and dispose of in the same manner. I live in Florida and have hard rusty well water and this is what I use. It is safe for septic tanks.

Don't mix chemicals. If it is bad rust, Iron Out is supposed to be really good. If the glaze is gone, the stain may be permanent.

Bleach. It will come back, do it again.
