Hello! That pattern appears to be a cable stitch pattern. There are websites online that provide free patterns -- all you have to do is provide your email address to them. Here is one of those sites:

I had not seen the commercial so I googled Snuggle fabric softner red afghan in Google Images. In the top row of pictues was a still shot of the afghan, showing a crochet hook, beside a box of Snuggle dryer sheets.

When I clicked on the picture, it took me to the site of Craftdrawer Crafts. - craftdrawer.com, and the full pattern is there.

The afghan is crochet, not knit.

Thanx. I read the artcle it is a knit stitch"fisherman s rib" the person wanted to try crocheting.

Janet is right, that Afghan in the commercial is a knitted Afghan. The craftdrawer lady converted it to crochet. I love to knit and want that pattern as well. I am on the hunt. If I find it, I will let you know!

You are very welcome! Glad you found the exact name! The “Fisherman’s Rib knit stitch” is often found in those beautiful imported sweaters from Ireland.
