I once took an old glass milk bottle, and then I found a sweet potato that would fit in the small round opening. I added water till it hit the tip of he potato. It gave me a beautiful full vine for several months. I hung it in my window from a macromae(sp) holder.

It really depends on the amount of light each box gets. Full sun for most of the day works well with marigolds. Begonias work well in boxes that only get morning sun. Access your box light and go from there
