Buy "Natures Miracle". I buy it at Chewy.comg because they have a big selection of it. Buy for dogs or cats. For stains or odors. I buy Natures Miracle Urine Destroyer for cats. And it works. On new and old stains and Odors.

For odors just dump it on heavy and let it air dry. It has to work down through a heavy carpet... the padding and into the original floor. That's where the odors hide.

Same goes for wood floors. Has to seep down into the base floor underneath.

Go to Chewy and type in Natures Miracle then select dog or cat. Some work on both.

Then read the descriptions on each kind and pick the one that suits your needs.

    Works on all surfaces.

If that doesnt take care of the wood itself, you may have to refinish that section of flooring. Either way, you have to get to the source first otherwise the odor will come back.

I have seen Nicole Curtis on "Rehab Addict" (HGTV) address this problem, and she usually, strips it, sands it, and re-stains it just dark enough to camouflage the stains
