I love that blue! I use a similar fabric on a desk seat I redid a while back. Your table and chairs look to be in good condition, finish doesn't look marred. Its entirely up to you! If it were rough looking I'd look at lightening it some, but its a pretty set, as is

I put a different fabric on each of my chairs recently. Have fun with it. You can always swap it out again!

Very pretty table and chairs. If you like the color of the stained wood and it is not scratched I would just pick fabric I love and leave it at that. If you like painted furniture it probably would be pretty painted and distressed a little for a brighter appearance. All personal taste. Beautiful either way I am sure.

I did this to a similar project (beautiful fabric, by the way). I left the dark stain on the table, but sanded and painted the table legs and base an antique white. I sanded and painted the chairs the same antique white. But I agree with Dianacirce70, do what YOU like!

I like the fabric, but it does contrast with the dark tone of your wood. You could try lightening it up with a slight whitewash to go for a more beachy look, but if the dark finish is in good shape you might want to not mess with it. There is no wrong!

the only thing i would suggest is to have a mat made to cover the table top. ive got 2 mats made-1 for my walnut desk, and 1 for my walnut table. both are solid walnut-no veneer. great grand father built the desk as a high school shop project..in 1920. the mats prevent the white marks from the heat of the dishes.
