Does anyone know how to hide the cords for the tv and sound bar after mounting? Also any suggestions for where to place the Direct TV box?

Create a floating shelf just under the TV (wires & cables could be hidden behind), run the cables along with mantle behind the sound bar. If it looks like one big unit, it won't look so disorganized.

You could also put some molding around the TV, like a frame, that would cover most of the wires in that zone. For the side, is there enough slack in the wires to tack them along the fireplace edge? Then you could cover with painters tape and paint to match the walls! Finally, could you put the sound bar up top and the cable box underneath?

Home improvement stores have systems for hiding cords. You can get corners and everything to run them from the TV to the mantel and down to the box. If they don't have your wall color, you can paint them. I would go that way. I would try to see if you can put the box on the mantel on the left or right side. If it doesn't stick too far out, put heavy duty Velcro on the bottom on a few spots to secure it to the mantel, that way you can have it secure and still move it to dust they area.

Hi. You can buy cord covers or cord protectors for the wires. There are a good variety of references here: https://nassaunationalcable.com/search?type=product&q=cord*%20protectors*

You can look for them on Amazon as well.
