  • You can deadhead and trim, generally you cut back in late winter or early spring.

It is best to wait until your late winter or early spring before the new growth emerges

I live in Eastern Virginia, and we cut our knock out roses back at various times of the year......cut them back MANY times in the summer, fall, spring, but not the winter. We have found from many years of experience, "you cannot kill that rose bush!"
