Sowing Seeds 101

This method is the easiest for beginners to get their vegetable garden started for spring. I posted about this a year ago and felt it should be shared again... I suggest visiting the original post as there was a lot of comments and tips shared by others. See the original Hometalk Post here: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/grow/plants/thyme-to-sow-999009
However, I wanted to update this slightly as a new product has come on the market that everyone should keep a look out for. Instead of peat pellets, COIR pellets are now available and act in the same manner of taken up water and expanding as the peat pellets do. It's made from coconut fibers which is a renewable resource.
Peat and coir pellets are perfect for beginners
Use a pencil or a dibble to pick seeds up, it will moisten each time to poke a seed into the soil priming it to pick up the next one.
Peppers and Tomatoes are great for starting in pellets
