The first thing you need to do before you tackle any new project is to research every step to make sure you understand every step. Tiling requires making sure the subfloor is suitable for tile, measuring, sometimes cutting with a wet table saw, dry spacing, spreading thin set, setting tile in the thin set, tamping, drying, grouting (probably the most difficult part), wiping/rinsing grout off tile, then enjoying the fruits of your labor.
