Ferti-lome makes a soluble plant food that is 9-58-8. Follow the directions to make a water solution. Put it on now and again in the spring. Do not prune the plant back as this will keep it from blooming in the spring.

They were prolific for several years and I fertilized twice per year only, wrapped in burlap for winter and took out the only the dead canes in spring.

I recently read that ipsom salts revitalizes them. Directions for plant food ratio are on the package.
