Organized Craft Supplies
I have several crafty spaces throughout my home:
•Hall Closet for party supplies, gifts & wrapping
•Guest Room Closet for photos, memorabilia & memory book supplies
•Laundry Room Shelf for crafts supplies
My laundry room shelves are used the most and often turn into a stuff zone. So this time I grouped the supplies on each shelf according to the way I use them.
We hoard art supplies in our home. We literally buy them by the pound and our shelves are often bursting with things we want to create. My husband paints almost every day and the kids are always making something. I eBay, make DIY projects and wrap a lot of gifts. So these were organizational needs I was trying to address with this craft shelf.
The first thing I did was clear the worst shelf off completely.
I stacked everything to sort on the washer and dryer. It ran off onto the floor and then into the hall. I looked all around me and went looking for chocolate, because it always gets worse before it gets better! When you pull everything you've stuffed out, it can be overwhelming.
Luckily, I had organized some things in bins and baskets so they were already grouped and labeled.
I filled each shelf according ease of reach with relation to frequency of use, weight (for the top shelf) and grouping of similar items.
Top to bottom:
•Baskets & Boxes
•Sewing & Shipping Station
•Frequently used art supplies
•Cards & Gift Bag Station
•Occasional art supplies
Here's a closer look at a few shelves:
• Writing •Cardstock •Glue •Glitter 😳 •Buttons •Crayons •Paint
Soon I'll conceal the area with a heavy white curtain.
