Proper way to finish a cedar garage door
We have cedar doors waiting for stain. Making sure our contractor gets it done right. I'm having to micromanage every detail on our project. Quality workmanship doesn't exist. Where are our older generation expxperts ? Please come back. Return to the market and sell your supervisory expertise and knowledge. Flood the market and make some money.

Some people leave them to weather - go a silver grey colour, while others Oil them , whilst others Exterior Polyurethane Varnish them.....
Do you want the original cedar color to stay? If you do, use clear marine polyurethane. It is really durable and lasts and holds up to the weather great. We put down new wood back steps a little over two years ago and used it on them and they are doing great despite two winters of ice and snow and four dogs running up and down them.
They are the weathered silver grey now. Thank you all for the information!
