The strawberries will not get much light once the tomato plants increase in size. All you can do is try!
You could but they would both be fighting for the water..........
You can plant strawberries with beans, lettuce, onions, spinach, but not cabbage. Tomatoes can be planted with asparagus, carrots, celery, cucumber, onions, parsley, and peppers, but not corn or potatoes. What determines plant companions are pests, disease or nutrition requirements in common. I hope this helps.

All of the above answers are correct and useful... Stop to think for a moment though... Strawberries are, in most regions, perennial. Tomatoes are annuals. Strawberries spread through runners. When cleaning up spent tomato plants (and possibly when harvesting ripe tomatoes) you are likely to cause damage to the new strawberry plants. I generally plant perennials with other perennials that have the same soil, sun, and water requirements and let them spread into each other. That way, I can separate all the plants in the bed at one time, every few years, and disturb the plants only as necessary.
I plant lettuce and salad herbs under my tomato plants because they all like regular water and the "green-leafys" like it cooler and shadier. Also, I can harvest an entire salad in one spot!
