If the landlord won't replace it or get it cleaned up, would an area rug cover it? You could take it with you when you move.

bistle shampoo worked wonders on a black berry stain when we were younger check a corner make sure it won't discolor your carpet .... HOT SHOT from most stores like Walmart will remove stains but you must check in a corner to make sure you don't end up with a real light spot ... my daughter had light Berber carpet in her first rental and spilled red juice and didn't clean it up right away ... I knew we were going to end up replacing the carpet but we got some hot shot and white towels and it came right out I am sold at least for light colored carpet I have very light tan carpet and a puppy stole a pen and had ink all over the floor when I caught it. I tried to shampoo and it spread it so I got the HOT SHOT out and it came up immediately!

Buy a bunch of area and throw rugs. You should be able to get some at a thrift shop.

If you are the renter, ask the landlord if you can remove it, if the sub floor is still in good condition paint it and put down your own throw rugs. Get permission from landlord in writing first.
