Look for what you like, or make your own--out of any thing (small clothes pins, colors) be creative. Use push pins to attach to under bottom of shade, fabric. GL
You should be able to tell if they would stand up to abuse by looking at them. As Gudur said, look for what you like and get that, not what everyone else says. You have to live with it, live with what you like!
I do not care who makes them, I go for quality. I will not purchase without touching and feeling at least an exemplar. Can you get your fingers through the pulls - can a man get his fingers through the pulls, are the knobs large enough, how easy to clean - are all considering factors - then price.
