How to make a table look new?

we just got a second hand table with 6 chairs really heavy and the top of the table has a few blimishes on it do not want to sand an remove the finish as its hardly noticeable tryed furniture polish did not work.

Ah, have you tried Old English Oil? It comes in lemon and in dark polish. Best of luck.

Hi Carolyn, You may want to try Murphy's oil soap. It will bring back the luster and hide your flaws.

One idea is shoe polish the color of your wood. Use a Q-tip to color and fill in the marks. Home Depot also sells Furniture Crayons for the same purpose.
I agree with Suzette regarding Murphy's Oil Soap. If u want something a lil more permanent, white washing is big right now. You can find many different processes online from layering, sanding, using half paint/half water...
Try Old English oil stain. They have light and dark, you don't say what the table finish is. To use, drop a few drops on the blemish, rub in with a cotton rag. Blend it in with the nearby wood, so it looks even. Next, wait about 2 hrs, and rub with a paper towel until the towel comes clean. You made need a few paper towels. Good Luck!
