There are cleaners made for hardwood floors. I just damp mop.

    1 gal. Hot water
    3/4 cp. Olive oil
    1/2 cp. lemon juice
clean and polish hardwood floors. The hot water & lemon clean the floor and the olive oil leaves a natural sheen. Apply with a mop that has been rung out well, then let it dry. No need to rinse after - once it dries your floors will look great.

I use a product called Woodwise. You can order it on Amazon or directly from Woodwise. I've used it on my hardwoods for 8 years. Just spray it on one area and wipe up the dirt with a clean rag, then use another rag to dry it and it will shine.
