What is the best kind of roof paint to prevent rust - metal based roof

I have galvanized iron type roof and they get rusted and start to grow holes and leak,what is the best protection I could do for it like a paint job?

WE have a metal roof on our upper front porch. My husband first cleaned it thoroughly and then repainted it with paint for metal. But first you had better repair those holes. and sand well.
