its so easy. Save two inches off and vegetables and three inches of sniped herbs. Remove the leaves from the stem of herbs, except for a few on top. Place in glass of water until roots grow. Put in soil. Fir vegetables for free and attractive little kitchen projects, don't throw away the bottom if whatever veg ur using. Fir example , on celery, save the last two inches of the root and place in a soil window planter in kitchen. Same w scallions, or whatever you are using. Place them in the soil, and before long, you will have ur recycled vegetables , fresh in your kitchen. Another cool idea for potatoes , is to buy two plastic planters from the dollar store. Cut out windows on one. Using the complet one on the outside, layer dirt and potatoes scraps w eyes in the second. . When ur ready for some potatoes, lift the ring and dig down from the top! The other layers will continue to provide you w more!
Debbie, Can you explain the potato trick better? 2container;cut out holes in one; layers eye scraps/dirt...Why do you use the second container?? How? Do you put the one with dirt/scraps into one and place it in the empty one? What purpose does the empty container have? Thanks!!Brenda
