How can I remove white heat/water marks from my dining room table?

I believe the surface is veneer rather than solid wood. Can I successfully sand it?

Use white toothpaste and a soft rag (rubbing in a circular motion like waxing a car) to remove white marks.

You can also use a warm iron and white pillowcase. Just put the pillowcase on the mark and rub the iron on top of it until the mark comes out.

Use a warm iron-no steam-and a clean dry dishtowel, iron it on and check often.
