Your talking about the wall before entering the dinning area right and that wall what room is it to get a better idea.
Which wall are you referring to?
Are you talking about the left side of the picture we can barely see? Are you trying to make the dining room more private? My last house's dining room had an awkward cutout adjacent to the hall, so I got a bunch of those silver mercury old time christmas bulbs in very large to small sizes, and hung them all on fishing line across the space filling it up with mirrored balls. Looked nice.
You could also turn that half wall into a buffet by adding a counter to it like wood, granite or marble. Then add a couple pendant lights over it in soft light tones. You could put a couple of your serving dishes on it. Could add a couple nice Luminere candles.
I would also lower that chandelier over your table down with a dimmer light switch and soft bulbs to create some ambience.
Thank you!
Put up a nice curtain rod on decorative curved mounts and hang a swag curtain just above the opening. That is if your talking about the wall leading in to the dining room at the top there ?? Not sure what wall you looking to decorate really ?
Here's a thought: Using two 2"x10" pine boards side by side, stain them, distress them, hand paint your favorite verse, hang on wall as a greeting to the room. If the pine boards are too heavy, maybe several pine fence boards would work. OR if you can paint, or lucky to find, a very wide scenic canvas that you could hang. Best of luck.
