What is the best protectant for hand-painted clay pots?

I like to paint clay pots for my garden. But I cannot find something to protect them once I paint them. The designs wear off very quickly.

Start by calling a local nursery, and ask about a sealant for your pots, and where you can purchase it. Good Luck!
I would put an application of polyurethane over the pots. It comes either in a spray can or you can brush it on. It also comes in a flat or gloss. Since they are outside, I'd put a couple coats on.

You can seal - with a spray. There are polyurethane sprays. Good luck!
