How to stop sweater fuzzies (pilling)

Please help! Need the easiest way to stop the sweater/t-shirt fuzz balls! Aka "piling"
better yet, how to prevent them? What am I doing wrong during washing?

Put in Freezer for a while. To take off bobbles - Use Sellotape or Bobble shaver.........
ya know those electric razors guys use...the ones with the 3 mini razor heads....borrow it and give the sweater a shave. You aren't doing any thing wrong...it's just the nature of the beast.
wash on a gentle cycle,or hand wash in wool light and dry them on a clothes rack
They sell a gadget especially for that and it works well
at one point...you could actually buy a sweater shaver.....
