Pruning roses can be done immediately after flowering has finished or in the late winter or early spring when dormant
Trim any dead branches in the spring. If it's become unruly, you can trim it before the first frost, but you will need to protect it during the winter hard freezes.
You deadhead during the blooming season and prune in late winter to early spring.
