Orchids really don't require much water. Ours are attached to trees, and only get water when it rains. They don't like wet "legs" so orchids lots have vented sides to keep the water from accumulating in the pot. Water your orchids when the soil in the pot feels dry to the touch.

Don't. Depending on the size of your orchids, put ice cubes about every five days. I put about three on my small to mid-size orchids.

Drown (yes drown) them once a week. My smaller ones I drown in the kitchen sink. The larger ones have a shower in the bathtub. Make sure their saucers (if you're using them) have no water in them. They get root rot easily. Lightly spritz with water throughout the week. Expose them to bright light, no direct sunlight. Orchids are easy to grow and you'll have years of pleasure from them.

It depends on what kind of orchids, and where you have them. I have a ton of phaleanopsis orchids (moth orchids) that bloom every 6 months. They're in a south facing, but very shaded window, and their pots sit in a tray filled with pebbles from which water evaporates around the plants to crdate a moister indoor environment. I water them weekly with a very weak dilution of fertilizer in the water. If the plants are outdoors, you may need to mist and water them daily. Research the environment your species of orchid comes from, and try to duplicate it indoors.
