Blue toilet tablet stains in toilet bowl. How to get rid?

?I plopped a blue cleaning tablet in my guest bathroom thinking I was doing a good thing. Since the toilet isn't flushed often, the blue water has caused a blue ring in the toilet bowl. A regular toilet brush doesn't remove it. Any suggestions?

For though toilet stains I use a pumice stone. That may work., and good luck.

Pour a 2-liter bottle of coca-cola into the bowl and leave it alone overnight. In the morning, scrub the toilet as usual and then flush a couple of times to rinse. The acid in the soda will clean most stains.

I use a heavy duty pumice stone made by Pumie, works great. Cheap and available on Amazon.

Turn the water off and flush your toilet. Pour bleach onto strips of paper towel and place on the ring. Let the paper soak on the ring overnight. Remove the paper towel and scrub the area well with a soapy brush. Turn the water back on and flush. If the blue ring is still there after soaking in bleach, add more bleach and repeat.

Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Platinum Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. It works wonders in the toilet bowl as well as tiles and also keeps hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.

  • I’d try a pumice stone. Make sure to keep the stone wet to avoid scratches.

  • Hi Michele! You can let about ½ cup of vinegar sit in your toilet for a few minutes. Then scrub with your toilet brush. You can also clean the rim with vinegar. Simply spray the vinegar on the rim and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it clean with a microfiber cloth. Hope this helps!
