It grows stalk-like to almost 6 ft with foliage as shown on right bottom corner, kind of large fern type leaves. The blooms are single and grow into spike. Easy to grow by collecting seeds from spent blooms. Blooms in Oct and is sun tolerant here in SW Florida. Thanks

I've been told it is a cardboard plant, sorta in the Sago palm family. So look it up and see if that be it and more pictures of it. Mine are in pots and have never bloomed. So now I'm curious.

This looks like a Popcorn Plant. I get them every spring at the local nursery.
It's a Popcorn Cassia, we grow it for the yellow Sulphur Butterfly caterpillars, it's their host food. We nicknamed them greenbeans as they're all different shades of green & their texture is a little rough. Please don't remove the caterpillars as we need all the pollinators we can get! There are several types of Cassia, even trees, but all seem to have yellow blooms. Just about any butterflies that are sunny yellow, lime yellow, or yellow with soft coral edges are Sulphur.

I think its a Popcorn Plant also. When you rub the leaves, does it smell like buttered popcorn? If it does, then it definitely is a Popcorn Plant.
