Unscrew seats. If needed, replace padding. Place appropriately sized foam covered by batting on seat. These can be attached with spray adhesive. Place fabric right side down; place seat (the chair's not yours) in center of fabric (which has been cut larger than the seat). Using a staple gun, pull one side snug and staple in place. Work around the seat in this manner, stapling opposite sides and neatly folding the corners like wrapping a gift. If the chosen fabric has a design, be sure to take this into account when cutting your fabric. Reattach seat to chair and relax in your reupholstered chair.
Remove the current covering from the chair. Turn the chair over and remove the seat by taking out the screws. Once you have the pad removed use a screwdriver to remove the staples holding on the fabric and padding. The fabric will be used as a pattern for your new fabric. Cut the new fabric a little larger than the old. Center the padding on the fabric and set the wood on top of that. Starting in one corner use a staple gun to reattach the new fabric. This step is a bit tricky. To get a nice corner you have to pleat and staple. Then I do the opportunity corner. Then a third corner and finally the last. Then it's a matter of pulling tight and stapling the rest of the fabric. Then reattach the pad to the chair. Voila.
