It sometimes depends on how or what is soiling your toilet bowl. If you have water with a high mineral content, you may need a lime/calcium remover to use.
O have never used Coke for this purpose but I sure do drink a lot! I use plain old Ajax or comet and have for years. If you start to get tough stains, buy yourself a product called Heavy Dity scouring stick by Pumie. Very cheap and available on Amazon. It's a pumice stick that easily removes these stains.
i consider it a waste of good cola. Try this....2cups baking soda....2/3 cup citric acid...essential oils to make it smell nice. Mix the soda and citric acid in a glass bowel. Slowly mist the dry powder mixing as you go. You want it barly wet. Take a teaspoon spoon measure to make the tables Mound them and let dry. . Put in air tight container..zip lock bag works. Drop one in the bowel to clean. The citric acid may be where the canning equipment is located...it's used to preserve the color of fruit and elevate the acid the acid level so the bad bugsand spores like mold can't grow. You can add a scent like vanilla extract if you want.
You can also drop a denture cleaner tablet in the toilet for tough stains. Try to leave it set for overnight. Then just flush in the morning. Stains should be gone.
