How do you renew cupboards/doors at least when Landlord with not allow painting?

I would clean them as best as you can and then add contact paper or vinyl to the cabinet doors. As long as you can remove it before you move. you should be able to freshen up your kitchen without painting.

Since you live in a rental, you can't really re-do the cabinets. Murphy's oil soap removes all kinds of stuff from wood including grease. Being cleaner may make them look brand new!

Wash/scrub with TSP; rinse well. Then wipe down with mineral spirits, especially around the cabinets that are above and around your stove. Then with a new rag, wipe down with white rubbing alcohol.
Once it is clean and dry, you should be able to wipe it down with lemon oil, or slightly colored oil like, Old English. It will look brand new!

Use OLD ENGLISH it will clean the wood & restore it. It will will probably take many coats or applications but it will be worth it!

Murphy's oil soap does a great job! Won't leave an oily film and smells rather pleasant. It's not expensive and can be used for a lot of things.
If you're wanting a different look, I agree try the removable contact paper. I understand target has a good selection.

I know it sounds crazy if it is dirty why wouldn't they allow you to paint. ANYWAY what I did when I lived at one such place that had horrible ugly wallpaper was .... I found a simple fabric that I liked and used a staple gun and applied it to the wall ,,, ta da my new wallpaper that I liked. To hide the staples I bought decorative thumbtacks heart shaped is what I chose. When I wanted to redecorate I just pulled it and changed the fabric. Easy Peasy and when I moved just removed the whole thing. What I did actually kept their tacky looking wallpaper in perfect condition and we got a good check out status and all of our cleaning deposit refunded.
