How many coats of drywall patch are needed?

    Hello. I would start with one coat. Let it dry and sand. If the area is not blending in then add another coat, let it dry, and sand. Keep repeating until you have a nice smooth area that blends in with the rest of the wall. Make sure you prime it before you paint.

    Until it is smooth... 3-6 coats. But maybe choose a faster drying drywall mud.
