How to get cat pee smell out?

Replace the plywood. I've tried numerous products to remove the smell in my craft room from a dog I trained in there using wee wee pads when she was a puppy. Kept using that room as an adult when it rained. Replacing the drywall and plywood in the corner where she went was the only way to get rid of the smell. Sorry. Good luck.

Once cat pee has permeated wood, it almost has to be removed. Is the wood where the cat peed small enough that you can cut it out and replace? It may be easier to just remove the whole 4'x8' sheet of plywood and put in another.

Some manufacturers claim they have sealers to "lock in" the odor. I think the only sure way is to replace the plywood. Good luck, it's a very pervasive odor.

Try using full strength vinegar, let it dry, if it still smells, repeat. Try this before you have to replace.

When we moved into our home we had the carpet removed but there were dog stains on the plywood. Before the new carpet was installed the carpet layers told us to paint over the stains with Kilz.

Sadly, we had an old dog that peed on the carpets as she got more feeble. We used the Natures Miracle Urine Destroyer (the key is letting it soak down thru the pad and letting it dry naturally) and that worked fairly well. When we removed the carpet before installing tile we treated again and then put down the "HardyBacker" using the thin set as recommended. Clorox how has a new Pet Stain product that seems to work just as well (this time:old cat)

Ran into this problem today. You will probably have to pull plywood and replace or treat old plywood with Kilz before laying new plywood because of mold, mildew, and other 'crap' that causes breathing problems. This is also true with human pee and poo.

Oh! Let's hope not, that would be expensive!
