If the racks were not removed from the oven during the self cleaning cycle, I do not think there is much you can do with them. I always remove them when I'm cleaning the oven. If they are just dirty, lay newspapers outside on your patio and then the racks. Spray the racks with oven cleaner on both sides and let sit for at least a couple of hours or overnight. Spray off the cleaner with a garden hose and most of the dirt will come off. If there are still spots use some steel wool.

There are several ways to clean them...

Cover with a garbage bag to hold in heat and help contain the smell, close the door to keep out kids and pets... and run the exhaust fan to exhaust the smell. Use a brush, green scrubby pad, or Brillo pad to scrub off residue.. a small wire "toothbrush" can help with the joints... Rinse well and let dry

Take oven racks outside and place in a large, heavy duty garbage bag (helps keep the oven cleaner from drying out or evaporating) and spray thoroughly with oven cleaner... fold the bag over and place outside in a warm, sunny area... let sit for several hours... then scrub or brush the residue away... a small wire "tooth brush" helps get into the joints. Rinse well and dry.
try oven cleaner. do this outside and put newspaper down (multiple sheets), spray with oven cleaner, let sit for ten minutes and then wipe off. Steel wool might also be helpful.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...
