What is the best order of tasks for redoing a stairwell?

We need to paint most of it, put in new carpet, change out a window, and wallpaper a wall at the base. What should the order be to minimize disruption and excess work?

Removal -messy dirty work first.- remove carpet, remove wallpaper, remove all millwork trim, baseboards, window trim, etc.

Dirty construction work next, working ceiling to floor, high to low, if at all possible. So in this case it includes replacing the window.

Paint next. Wallpaper next. Carpet installation last.

Do all the striping out first, then the Base wall and window so it is then weatherproof, and then Plaster Base wall, followed by any timber work followed by Paintwork followed by wallpaper.............

I save the carpet for last since it acts as a protection for the floor underneath until the end when I am ready to do the floor. Gravity takes everything down to the floor.
