Roses love acid soil, so you can use fertilizer containing acid and iron , use peatmoss around them , used teabags and or coffee grounds. make sure they get lots of direct sunshine. Depending on type of rose prune properly in spring when buds appear.

Soil and sun are key for roses. They like humus, well-drained spots that go deep. Loam over clay works well. They also like sun, at least 6 hours a day.

Watering is variable based on temperature and soil and surrounding plants. But about 2 inches a week is usually enough.

You have to look at where you placed the roses, if you got healthy stock to begin with and if there are things that are making it difficult for them to grow well. If you've got everything a rose loves to help them grow, then are there diseases or pests?

The first thing to encourage them is to make sure they are in good spots and have what they need to have a fighting chance. Then using a fertilizer especially for roses and following the instructions should help for future plants.

They love banana peels as well. Bury some around the roots of the rose bush. Mine flourished! Also, coffee grounds. Good drainage and good fertilizer. :) Good luck.
