Hi Karen. I mix simple green and water in a bucket. I then use a good scrub brush and scrub the grout lines with the mixture. Once I have them all scrubbed I wipe any excess with a old towel. Then I go over the entire floor with a steam mop. If you don't have a steam mop you can use a regular mop.

I use Commercial Soft Scrub w/ bleach for dirty bathroom grout, it should work on your kitchen floor as well. Put some on a green scrubber pad and work into your grout lines then rinse well.

    Hope that helps

I do something similar to what Amanda does, but I use a strong solution of Oxyclean and detergent with which to scrub the grout lines. I will leave the mixture on the floor for an hour or so and then get a bucket of clear water and a mop and start getting the detergent residue off the floor. The mop has to be rinsed repeatedly and frequently. My reward is sparkling clean floor and renewed grout lines.

For a deep clean, I use scrubbing bubbles that's usually used in the bathroom. Just like Karen a good scrub brush (on the end of a painter's extension pole) and go at it. For an old tile floor I re-seal the grout. Final step for me is to use a ceramic polish. From then on out a regular mopping will do.

Grout sealer can be bought at any tile store or one of the big box stores -- Home Depot, Lowes. You can even buy it on line. Amazon probably carries it. After you use the scrubbing bubbles use vinegar and water to rince (1 to 1). Let dry, then and seal.
