I got a little on my big toe, and used daily application of Tea Tree Oil on the nail. Just a drop. Then I have also read that Vic's Chest Cold Rub works too.

usehe said to Believe it or not, Iwent to my doc about toe fungus a couple weeks ago and she suggested Vick’s Vapor Rub®! whil we were in the Examining room can we got distracted by something else and never finished talking about the fungus so I approached her about it in the hall and that’s what she said to use—she then said her husband tried it and it worked! As I left the building a man approached me claiming to have overheard our conversation and said it was ABSOLUTELY true but it does take a while—(no, I’m not crazy). The other remedies are OTC Walgreens Anti Fungal Liquid (if they still carry it—if not, ask the pharmacist if they can order it. I also think Lamisil or OTC Miconazole Nitrate 2% anti fungal cream (Osco Drug or Walgreens should carry these, however, I’m not sure if any of the creams help nail fungus. Lamisil Oral WILL treat nail fung but can cause Liver damage that can be fatal! Get diagnosed or as pharmacit’s or doc before using anything. Also, Lamisil comes by Prescription or OTC.

Have you tried bleach & water? I've used it on my fingernails before and it worked. Never had it on my toes so not sure how effective it would be. Just a thought ;)

Juice from green outer shell of black walnuts. Will discolor skin baday for a bit. Also tea tree oil supposedly works well

Definitely Tea Tree Oil and/or Vick Vapo Rub, but you can't just put it on for one day and you're cured. You have to use it several times a day for several weeks or more. Don't let up until it's gone. I would also recommend going to a Podiatrist first. I thought I had it, but I didn't. I just needed to trim my nails more often.

Hello M2ms02 :) My Aunt swore by VICKS VAPORUB, no kidding!, and my sister is using it right now. She's been applying it to her toemails for the past 2 weeks and wearing white socks over her feet at bedtime, and she said she is already beginning to see a difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW27t9Otwi0

Here is a video that gives you different ways of treating it but advises you use the treatment for a month or two as directed:

Nothing works....I will try Vicks...fingers crossed. Nail fungus is sometimes a warning of an illness. Get a full physical including blood test.

Vicks vapor rub did not work on my husband ...do you put it on top of your toe nail or do you try to put it under your nail? He put it on top of and top of nail sluffed off...fungus still under the nail. I have heard of tree oil but have not tried it.

Not to sound brutal But I have had this problem for over 12 years and after trying everything I had my big toenails permanently removed and no more problems. Be sure to read up on the pills before you try that solution. I paint my toes along with my other nails and no one has noticed. Good luck
