Hi, more of a "car finish" question, but how to fix a mar in the wax?

Recently parked under a pine tree and sap dropped on the hood in a few places. Like a fool, I used "Goo Gone" to remove the sap; well, it also removed the finish from the wax in the spot(s) where I rubbed off the sap (I know I should have done a test spot... duh.) Is there anything inexpensive I can get to just rewax only the couple of spots where this is noticeable? You might know, it's right in the middle of the car hood (silver) for all to see!!! Thanks in advance!

You can purchase the paint to fix the spots from the dealership that sold you the car. The paint comes in a bottle like White Out. They should have the exact color you need. EJL
Make sure you clean off the area real well, or the whole car. Go to Wally World or any other store and see if you can find a car wax that is good for silver cars and wax the whole car while your at it. That way if there is a little difference, you have done the whole car and you won't see a difference. Get a good brand and you will be happier with the job and it will probably last longer. Your car is an investment that you want to look good as long as you have it.
Hello Sophie Ratcliffe :) I'm not an auto detailer but perhaps treating your car as though the dulled out spots are sunspots and try fixing the problem as you would for that, will be the solution you are looking for (with rubbing compound, buffer, and wax as described in this first link). Pop into any auto part store, there are more wax touch up products on the market that you can count. 9 times out of 10, the guys and gals in there can help you with what you need for just a few dollars. I have my car wash regularly and the place I go to also does auto detailing. You can go to one of those places too and they could probably buff it up for you for a nominal sum. If you go that route, and they do a bang up job, tip well.
