maybe, but buy a root grow at home depot read directions and than plant when the roots are about 1-3 inches long

Absolutely DON'T attempt to root HIBISCUS, MANDEVILLA or LANTANA in water! (While these plants will root in water, the roots will be too weak when they are eventually planted in soil.) Cuttings should be made from tips or side shoots about 3 inches long. Remove all but the top two leaves. Dip the hibiscus, mandevilla and lantana cuttings in rooting hormone and then stick them in a sandy peat mix. Place the hibiscus, mandevilla and lantana cuttings in a somewhat shady area and keep them warm, moist, and humid.
