What are some ideas for repurposing wooden parquet floors.

create a cleat for hanging heavy objects, make a door mat, make a coffee table, re-use for wainscoting, make a picture frame, etc....

IN THIS FOLLOWING VIDEO she is making a headboard from a door, and I was thinking that rather than padding parts of it, or adding a thin decorative wood trim around the edges, use the parquest flooring instead:

OR perhaps you could MAKE something like these, with some felt dots on the back to protect tabletops from scratches:

Do you want to re-do the finish on, or repurpose the parquet flooring?

To repurpose, the pieces of parquet will have to be removed. If it is indeed genuine wood parquet, then it has been installed with glue that will make the it brutal to try to remove completely without machine help. It is unlikely that the pieces of parquet wood will withstand the impact of being removed to be useable in any functional way.

Since you clarified your question, to RE-DO the flooring, you may want to think about sanding them (machine rental), then stain in a color you like. Of course you will have to seal it as well. Another option is to paint it. There's a vast array of colors for floors. Good luck.
