Avoid bleach, acids and abrasives. I just had one installed and was told to use dishwashing liquid and warm water. If it is old and has a dull finish you can freshen it up with Gel-Gloss. I used it when I bought my house over 20 years ago. It made my tub look like new.

I get great results with a solution of hot water, vinegar and a bit of dish soap. Let sit a minute then scrub.

Get a turbo scrubber! WE did and I have not regretted it. We bought ours online but Walmart and probably other stores have them now too. They are $40, BUT they work! They take the "hard" out of hard cleaning. They also clean tires, and many things at home. I use it to reach back behind the commode etc where my old bones do not bend so well anymore. My husband loves to use it also. We use our regular cleanser for the shower and it removes all the minerals, dirt, etc.

Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Spray it on, let it foam and sit till it liquefies. Rinse away. Works on fiberglass, porcelain, and enamel

Vinegar is a great cleaner, as a Scrubbing Bubbles and Magic Eraser. I still like old fashioned car wax for getting the best polish, shine and seal.
