How do you keep dogs from peeing on you front door steps?

Hello, You might need to train them with a shock collar. When they go to pee on the steps set off the shock collar. It doesn't harm them. I know this because my dumb brother put it on himself and had my other brother set it off. It made him yell but hasn't stopped him from trying other dumb stuff. lol.

That is downright rude. It is not the dogs fault, it is the fault of the owners. I would have a stern chat with them.

Hello! There are products available that deter that type of behavior and your local pet store has them. You might want to first try spraying bleach regularly in that area -- animals do not like that smell and if there is an odor there from other dogs, the bleach will mask the smell.

Put orange smell like bergamot or the orange cleaner they hate the smell. Something has left its scent there and they're showing they own it. So I'd clean it really good with orange cleaner then when dry put down a few drops bergamont oil. Also put 5-6 drops between dogs shoulders and it keeps biuvs off of them. The cats and dogs hate the smell but it doesn't hurt them

I agree with Rebecca, unless your dog is free to roam the yard without supervision. The dog is definitely marking it's territory. Not knowing what your steps look like, you need to remove any odor from the area. Power washing with a bleach solution is the best and safest way. You might want to call a professional dog trainer and ask if there is a deterrent spray to make your dog want to avoid that area. The last resort is dog training....basically a shock collar with trainer instructions. Pet Smart offers training, but ask around your community for the best Pet trainers. They are worth the money.
