Does anyone know the cost to build a kitchen island?

I'm looking to have one side be a 4ft table and 1 double door cabinet. The island itself would have a lower shelf on the side for a microwave.

Depends on if you are making it from scratch or recycling, upcycling it.

It all depends upon whether you want a DIY project or to have it professionally made.

An old dresser would make a great base for an island... remove one or more drawers to accommodate the microwave... a new larger top in butcher block or granite etc would complete the island

You still need to know your design, what you are going to make your top with, etc. Design it on paper, figure out the materials, then cost them out. You can make it from something like Ann did very inexpensively or make it like a top of the line island with a marble top.
