A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to participate in the Hometalk and Michaels Pinterest Party. I saw this fabulously easy and adorable project and decided to make it my own. I love how simple this project is...how versatile it is...and how happy it makes me when I see them all over my house and yard!

These pots are simple, pretty and relatively inexpensive to make. They make beautiful centerpieces or outdoor ...or indoor decor.

To start, you just need terra cotta pots in your choice of size; Multi surface paint (DecoArt) in white - or light color of your choice; paintbrush. Gesso can be substituted to paint your pot.

To decorate the pot, you need flexible acrylic stamps in a design of your choosing (there are so many pretty ones!) and Staz On ink in black or dark color..You also need a small piece of sandpaper to distress the pot.

Paint the pot and let it dry completely. Use the sandpaper to distress the pot slightly. It especially looks good around the top rim

1 - Determine the placement for your design. 2 - Place the stamp face up on a flat surface. Stamp the ink onto the stamp (opposite of the usual way)

3 - Quickly "roll" the stamp from one side to the other onto the pot. Apply light equal pressure to achieve the adhesion of the ink, 4- Quickly and carefully lift off the stamp. Practice on paper first!

5 - Clear acrylic sealer is recommend to protect the design. Use the spray kind...or try it without and the design may distress a bit more as it ages.

I love how the detail of the butterfly shows through and looks intricate but achieved with such simple steps.

This technique could not be simpler, is relatively inexpensive and has such great impact! Now lets decorate!
