Using scrapbook paper and a vinyl monogram, you can turn a simple frame into a home decor item that changes with each season.
I had just recently completed updating my outdated doorbell cover (see this project in my Hometalk profile) with a fun monogram design, when I was invited to a wedding shower. I knew that a monogram design on something unique for this bride to be would be perfect. Thanks to my Cricut I can whip up a lovely vinyl design in no time. Now just what to put it on.
A trip down the scrapbook paper aisle of the craft store inspired me. I love swapping out seasonal printables and placing them in a picture frame to fit the season- another frugal and simple way to change up the decor for each season. So instead of making printables for the bride, I decided to use just the plain scrapbook paper as a background for the vinyl monogram.
I chose a nice chunky black frame with a bit of a chalkboard feel. Then I placed the monogram vinyl design on the outside front of the glass. The scrapbook pages were all cut down to the 8X10 size to fit in the frame.
In the end I (and the bride) love the outcome! This frame can be displayed all year long by just swapping out for a seasonal design or one that fits the decor of the room (that blue stripe coordinated with some of the items on her registry). I think this might become my go-to bridal shower gift. What do you think, would you like to recieve it?
