Latest Thrifty Find - Vintage Bar

Back with another awesome thrifty find.
I have this odd addiction to vintage bar ware. (You can read about it here: http://eveislestudios.com/vintage-barware/.) But, no bar. Also, no idea what kind of bar I might want. I love the mid-century modern bars but they don’t really go with our decor. So, while out and about I’ve kept my eyes peeled for a cabinet or something we could convert into a bar. Just because we don’t have enough projects going on right now. (insert eye roll here)
And this is what I found. You can read more on our blog.
What do you think? Originally a bar?

Given that it has a lock at the very top, I'd say yes, it probably was a liquor cabinet/bar at one time. Those handles look more like door knockers! Lol. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

I'm a bit puzzled by the configuration of the shelves beneath the one that has holes for bottles. I notice part of the back is missing. Do you think someone modified the inside for their TV, etc.??

    • Yes. That top piece folds back far enough to serve. The back piece of the top portion has been cut out and reskinned with paneling so there is a large hole there as well. The shelf that holds the bottles appears to have been lowered and the vertical support on the left has been cut to shorten. That's what makes me think it was modified for a TV or stereo system.
