In one RV we had, I carefully removed the vinyl covering on the bathroom walls and then painted using Rustoleum Gloss white. Under that vinyl covering is thin clean wood.
In another RV we had (yes, we had a few), I painted the walls blue with just latex paint right over the vinyl covering in the bathroom
I also used a wallpaper lining over the wood paneling and then white satin sheen Damask wallpaper. We had gone camping and the dog brought many mosquitos in from his evening walk. Couldn't see the darn things with the dark walls so I remedied the problem with the shiny wallpaper.
