How to deal with rodents?

what is a safe way too keep rodents out of your garden, a fence is not an option, because the garden is on my deck. many thanks Robert.

I have catch and release traps that I bait with dollar store peanut butter.

Try cayenne pepper powder, red pepper flakes, Shredded Irish Spring soap, or a combination. If all else fails, bait a mouse trap with peanut butter and put one or more where they are causing the most damage. The snap of the trap will scare the bejesus out of them and they will stay away for a while. I have never caught a rabbit, squirrel or chipmunk this way, but it really does scare them away.
